Thurston Moore, Guided By Voices, Woods, Wild Nothing, Kurt Vile, and Superchunk all delivered memorable sets in sweltering heat over the course of the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival, held July 15-17 in Chicago, IL.

On Saturday, Woods “showed how they could effortlessly shave their songs down into succinct folksy wistfulness and then blow them wide open to fill the vast expansive spaces at the Red Stage” while during Wild Nothing’s set the with “merciful shade of the tree-lined Blue Stage and the occasional breeze rippling through the crowd, nature seemed to be conspiring to create the ideal setting for a late afternoon set of dreamy indie pop” -Pitchfork said in their recap of the festival
