Ground Control Touring Welcomes Purr

Ground Control Touring is excited to announce Purr as the latest addition to our roster!

Purr began in 2017 as the second project of the New York City born and based collaborators. Just before graduating college, the duo who previously gained attention after releasing music under their names, Jack and Eliza, shifted into a new gear. If their first project showcased the songwriting prowess of a promising young duo (they are both still in their early twenties), then Purr lets Callahan’s and Staffen’s work bloom into a fully realized soundscape. LIKE NEW was written in the band’s basement studio in downtown Manhattan, a repurposed storage space beneath a restaurant in the building where Callahan lived as a young child—“thanks to the goodwill of the very last kind landlord in New York City.” They recorded the album at Rado’s Los Angeles studio.
