Announcing Kristin Kontrol, formerly known as Dee Dee from Dum Dum Girls

We’re happy to announce the addition of Kristin Kontrol to our artist roster today, the new musical endeavor of Kristin Welchez, formerly known as Dee Dee from Dum Dum Girls.

She shed the Dee Dee alter-ego to step out and and create music freely without boundaries that the being a member of an established and critically acclaimed group brings. The new solo material features a heavy electronic focus while fusing elements of new wave, R&B, synth pop, and krautrock.

The debut album from Kristen Kontrol is due Spring 2016 via Sub Pop. Keep an eye on Kristen Kontrol’s artist page for future live dates.
