"I want to open for one of your bands!"
Well, unfortunately this is not something we can help you with. In general, our bands choose their opening acts themselves and have at least a handful of ideas before we even begin booking their tour. We understand how hard it is for a band starting out, believe us, but nothing good comes easy! The band that forms and goes out on huge tours right away is an anomaly, so you won't be the first or last. Most successful bands will tell you that they worked themsleves like crazy to get people to listen and come to shows. The best bit of advice we can give you is to think small. Start in the closest metropolitan area that bands you like come to. Play small shows. Play shows with other local bands. Hell, play anywhere that people will see you! Build an audience and don't be discouraged if it takes time. Prove to the people that book the venues around town that you can get people in their door and the next time they have local support slots for a national band your phone might ring (having them like you helps. This page will give you some ideas of what will NOT help you!). That's the way you'll get on shows with bands like ours, and possibly have a chance to give them a CD or chat.
