Emil Amos is Holy Sons. Since arriving initially during the early 90’s home recording boom, he has appeared and disappeared again over the course of 8 solo records, never touring until now. Holy Sons’ minimalist avant-folk sound journeys through formats as varied as dub, church-hymn, slow-jam and tape-collage; deconstructing virtually any genre with a spontaneous punk spirit. The music is organic, dark and beautiful, documenting a constantly evolving songwriter who possesses a unique gift for distinctive and prolific artistry. Outside of Holy Sons, Emil has two other globally renowned bands: ‘Om’ (Drag City), and ‘Grails’ (Temporary Residence/Important Records). He has performed both on stages and collaboratively with the likes of Daniel Johnston, Jandek, Damo Suzuki, J Mascis, Will Oldham, Smog, Quasi, Sir Richard Bishop and Scout Niblett.
