Hometown: London England UK Fridge formed at school in Putney, south London, in 1996 and were quickly signed to Trevor Jackson's Output label for their first albums, Ceefax (1997) and Semaphore (1998). The band moved to Go Beat! for Eph (1999), before settling with New York label Temporary Residence Ltd. Meanwhile, alongside the group, its workaholic members were cooking up other projects. Kieran Hebden's work as Four Tet first appeared on Output before he moved to Domino for the acclaimed Pause, Rounds and Everything Ecstatic. Adem Ilhan's songwriting also found a home with Domino with 2004's Homesongs and 2006's space-inspired Love and Other Planets way ahead of the current folk curve. Sam Jeffers has forged Worklesshard, a successful web design practice, while studying at LSE and Harvard. Contrary to what some may think the band never went away, never went on sabbatical and certainly never broke up they just stretched a little at the edges, and ended up with a bigger, wider sound than ever for their new record, The Sun.DISCOGRAPHY "Early Output 1996-1998" CD - Temporary Residence Limited 2009 "The Sun" CD/2xLP - Temporary Residence Limited 2007 "Thank You" Compilation CD - Temporary Residence Limited 2004 "Eph Reissue" 2CD - Temporary Residence Limited 2002 "Happiness" CD/2xLP - Temporary Residence Limited 2001 "Of Ep" CDEP/12" EP - Go!
